Palisade's Murder Mystery Party is this Saturday, June 30th. Along with learning Flickr (a photographers dream tool) I've been learning how to direct a script through the school of hard knocks. I am very lucky to be working with the people in this cast.

We have a group ranging from non-actors to actors with experience. The largest ingredient for success that I've found is lots of laughter. For me, however, I realized I needed to research this director's role and see what I'm supposed to do.

I keep trying to slip into the role of adoring audience member when actors are looking at me like, okay what do I do now? I still have a chance to redeem this at our next dress rehearsal--and my plan--to read the script a couple hundred times (yea right). Then I'll put it into graphic descriptions that I (a very visual learner) can retain. Then I'll make notes and think of pneumonic strategies to remember when to cue the boom box, and where to plant the knife.

So please knock on my Flickr-door and see the cast and their descriptions. You'll find some rather despicable yet lovable characters there--what a lovely paradox!

What fun! I'm so sorry to miss it. Henny Loggersnapper, wow, what a name! I do hope you'll share your video with those of us delegated to "holding down the fort" while all these wonderfully fun activities are going on.
